“Why am I seeing this ad?”
We’ve all had this thought at least once. By now, we understand the basics—it’s based on our interests, the articles we read, or the content we consume. But every now and then, something completely random appears. Usually, we just ignore it and click “Close.”
But one day, a different kind of curiosity kicked in.
“What is the ‘real deal’ that this advertiser paid money to show me?”
If we change our browser language to English, or use a VPN to cross digital borders, what kind of clever, strange, or unexpected services are out there drifting through the world in the name of “ads”?
WhyThisAd.com was created to answer that very question. We explore the real world that exists beyond the advertisement.
